Chapters 1-4
1.What do you think of Holden so far? What kind of person is he? How do you feel about him as a narrator-our only eyes into what is happening in his universe?
Think about:
*His tone/vocabulary (for example when he says that his brother D.B. is out in Hollywood "being a prostitute"/"I'm quite illiterate, but I read a lot"? )
*Why he is being kicked out of Pencey Prep. What does he say/what can you infer?
2.How do you see Pencey Prep? What kind of place is it? What about the students and teachers there?

I think that holden is a little wierd. His personality and use of vocabualry is very boring.. Funny, but boring. He tends to go on about nothing, But he explains things so good enough for me to stay on track :)
i think holden is a little weird his life seems so boring but he talks about nothing really good but i understand what he's talking about..

I think holden cures to much.Most of the stuff he says really dont make any sense.The school sounds nice.It seems like everyone really enjoy going there.

1.I think Holden is just misguided. I don't think he means to be a complete screw up. He just is. He's very careless but and I'm not quite sure why yet. I feel like he is just telling his story as it is to him. He says what he thinks and he doesn't really care about what anyone else does.
2.I think Pencey Prep is a very strict school. It seems to have zero tolerance for people like Holden. The teachers, well old Spencer is the only one Holden has talk extensively about so far, and he seems to care. He wants Holden to care too. As a far as the students, their kind of funny. Especially Ackley. He is very weird as well.

1. I think Holden is pretty funny. He seems like a cool kid and if i went to that school i would have hung out with him. I just think he is misunderstood. I think his language is just like just about everyone elses in real life. Mostly everybody swares on a regular basis like him.
2. I think Percy Prep is school full of snobbish spoiled rich kids who think they are better than everybody else. But honestly i wouldn't mind attending a school like that it actually seems like it would be fun to live in a dorm in highschool.
1. I think Holden is kinda funny and a little misunderstood. I don't think he trys to get in to so much trouble, its just the way he is, his personality.
2. I think Pencey Prep is a school with too many rules. You don't get too many chances in there if you mess up or get in trouble.
1)I think Holden is very sarcastic and open minded on his thoughts. He rambles on and on about the things he talks about and goes off topic a lot.
2) Pencey seems like a school for the phony rich people and they don't tolerate silliness and disruptions.

(1) I think holden is deffently sarcastic and doesant mind saying exactly whats on his mind.But sometimes he can go on about stuff that doesant really matter,& I think the language he uses shows the kind of person he is but hes kinda cool i would hang with him.(2) As 4 pencey I think its a school full of stuck up kids that dont know much about anything besides what goes on in thier lil community
