"Montage to a Dream Deferred"- Langston Hughes, 1951

"Harlem"

What happens to a dream deferred? (delayed)

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore -
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over -
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

-------------------------
1.What central question does the poem ask?
2.What is Hughes' message about dreams deferred?
3.How do "dreams deferred" relate to the American Dream?

2)Hughes message bout a deferred dreams is, is your dream untouchable or is it just a dream that will never come true.

3)Dreams Deferred relate to the American Dream is it ask in detail if the dream can or cannot come true.
